| Artist Bio | Zhenyu Luo, known as Shuyan (courtesy name) and Xuetang (pseudonym), was born in Jiangsu, China. Luo was a renowned epigraphy scholar. He made enormous contribution to research of oracle bone script and Dun Huang studies (related to art, architecture or scripts discovered in Dung Huang, China). After Hsinhai Revolution (a movement against the imperial power of Qing dynasty, 1911-1912), Luo still considered himself as a courtier of Qing dynasty. He is loyal to Puyi (the last Emperor of China, 1906-1967) and worked with Japanese to support the establishment of Manchukuo (a puppet state governed by Puyi and abolished in 1945), which makes his historical position more controversial. Luo has several published books. “Song Weng Ju Liao Hou Suo Zhe” is one of Luo’s renowned works. |
