Description	Named the unofficial “Mayor” of the city, Reuben Harpole has devoted his life to community service and advocacy. Harpole worked at the School of Continuing Education for 31 years, and he was senior outreach specialist at the Center for Urban Community Development until 1997. His list of accomplishments also includes the numerous programs he has been instrumental in creating or assisting. Some of these achievements include college preparation programs, the Milwaukee Public Schools’ Homework First Program, and the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center. Harpole continues to serve as a role model and example of the significant impact one person can make to their community and others.
