December 1, 1937. Farm of J. Brebner, 7 miles south of Bulawayo: Mr. Brebner, a Scotchman, came out thirty years ago and with small capital purchased about six thousand acres. He has been successful and managed to turn a good share of it into production, either in cattle pasturage or in cultivation. The twin huts with thatched roofs were his first buildings and are still the coolest and most comfortable sleeping rooms. Two women are standing beside the main house which is comfortably furnished and the shadow of one touches the rain water tank that stores the supply caught on the roof. A chicken yard stands beyond the huts, and inthe upper l.eft is a corner of the mule barn, near which Mr. Brebner or one of his sons is seen. Note the windmill and the tennis court. 4700 feet. 06:30.
