Kipling wrote: Under hot Constantia broad The vineyards lie.... etc. The wine from these vineyards has been famous for 250 years. Once a lord chancellor served his guests with only one round of the precious stuff. A disappointed guest replied: 'Pass up that decanter, for since we cannot double the Cape, I must return to Madeira.' c. 1100 feet. 10:35.
