November 3, 1937. Seven miles southeast of Darling, C P: The view is toward the northwest. In the middle distance the town of Darling appears, and in the background the coastal beaches are seen. This and the following five pictures show a small section of the wheat country of the 'Swartland' which lies between the mountains and the ocean. It is an area of winter rainfall sufficient for crop production. About half of the land is under crops while the other half lies fallow.
