Wire fence and cattle-guard across roadway. No fence north of the guard to prevent free grazing on either side of road. Occasional herds of cattle but no house visible. Stacks of grain cut as hay and a little ploughed land seen in the distance. (Mile 368 [i.e. 21,368], with 150 cattle in wide range at windmill tank, mile 360 [i.e. 21,360]) (See additional notes in photograph book. Leoti was at mile 383 [i.e. 21,383]. Some original sod cover almost to the back doors of the town.)
