Ensemble of ranch buildings, grazing sheep, cattle pasture, cultivated patches, long unfenced road, gently rolling topography, and cloud scenery characteristic of the country from Chadron north toward the Black Hills and Bad Lands. Grain in subsidiary to stock. Two thirds of the visible lanscape is grass. My notebooks says that this is a very important photograph because it illustrates a wide region sound of the Black Hills.
