Photographer's Note	Inside Parlik home. Mr. Parlik is seated on the left. His wife is at the other end of the table. The wife's name is Ravia. She is 37 and he is 40. The boy, Ustum, who we saw before, is 18. The girl is Birsen, 16 years old. There is another boy Osman, 11 years old who was out playing and was not included in the picture. The girl on the right in the foreground is Nirmin. She is 7 years old. The girl on the left is 3 years old. Her name is Afitap. They are living in what was formerly his father's house. The wife is from Yalova. Mr. Parlik was born in this community. Mr. Parlik buys and sells wood. Presumably his government job is a part time thing that pays very little. He owns some land and rents out the wheat field. He also may have some land planted to olives. The people always leave their shoes at the entrance to the house. The floor is covered with these carpets. Inside the house they either go barefooted or wear these slippers. Actually they are not necessary barefooted, they may be wearing socks or stockings, but they do sometimes wear slippers. This is one of the more well-to-do families in the village.
