Photographer's Note	Pictured is an American GI in typical army dress… high boots and khaki outfit. His name is George Clements of Aurora, Illinois. At the time this picture was taken he was about 30 years old. The Chinese gentleman to his left and right are elderly and respected in the community. Neatly dressed in long robes, their beards are neatly combed. They are proud of the fact that their picture is being taken. You'll note each has a cigarette in his hand (a gift for taking the photo). Chinese enjoyed smoking American cigarettes. The young man in the upper right hand corner has a thumbs up signal for 'ding how', which means 'very good' in English. They are wearing caps and clothing very typical of the area. Both adults and children were always fascinated with Westerners.
