Photographer's Note	Hard work deserves a 'smoke break', as enjoyed by this exceptionally tall Chinese. Most pipes of this type were made of about this length and made of bamboo with a metal bowl at the far end. Tobacco was smoked in small amounts, no more than a pinch at a time. The pipe length helped cool the smoke.
