Photographer's Note	Shown are two separately shaped stones attached to a round handle that matched the shape of the interior of a rock container. The implements were used to help remove chaff from the rice grain. This was one of many methods used prior to winnowing. In the foreground a tray is ready for winnowing the rice. This Chinese lady was very, very elderly, but she handled the task with dispatch. Note the bound feet. The rice stems in the background form an interesting pattern in light and shade.
