Photographer's Note	The building under construction was made of wood and mud brick. It was a small office building at the airbase of Yankai. A cinder like base was poured and upright poles set into it. The bricks then surrounded the poles. Wooden window frames were also set in place. Window panes were of oiled paper. Ordinarily baked tiles were used, but with roofing material available the Chinese opted for roofing paper. The building exterior will be carefully finished and very smooth looking. The interior will have an elevated wood floor with airspace between the ground and floor. There was no concrete floor or base, so large rats had no problem gnawing through the wood floor and building base. This was a problem.
