Photographer's Note	An old, revered gentleman smoking a bamboo water pipe while tending a stall in the marketplace. The shades in light and dark were quite interesting. He was selling what looks like a confection. One could only guess what it was. Notice the scale laying across the top of the bowl. The young man was there probably to assist him in selling his merchandise. He is sitting on a four-legged stool or bench made of wood. He wears the usual leather skull cap, trousers and a long dress-like garment, in blue and black. His footwear consists of white socks and cotton sandals. He carries with him and projects the dignity of his station in life. His beard and mustache are well developed. Next to his pipe he holds a stick-like object. This was used to light the small pinch of tobacco placed in the small bamboo angled stem located about 3/4 of the way down the large tube. Tobacco is placed in small quantities in this stem and then lit and drawn up over the water in the large bamboo tube. This cooled the smoke and offered a bit of relaxation.
