Artist Bio	Rangzhi Wu, known as Xizai (courtesy name) and Wan-hsüeh-chü-shih or Fang-chu-chang-jen (pseudonyms) was born in Jiangsu, China. Wu was a renowned calligrapher and artist in seal cutting in Qing dynasty. He followed the style of Shiru Deng’s seal cutting (Shiru Deng, a Chinese calligrapher and sealing cutting expert, 1644-1912). By integrating it with his own style, Wu created a distinct form, known as “Deng Group” and became a central figure in the art of seal cutting.
作者生平	吳讓之，江蘇人，清朝著明篆刻家、書法家。原名廷揚，字熙載，後改字讓之，亦作攘之，號讓翁、晚學居士、方竹丈人等。吳讓之師法鄧石如，建立「鄧派」篆刻藝術，在篆刻史上具有舉足輕重的地位。

Main Text	A fame of a mountain is not decided by its height. It is well-known as long as a deity is living there. Spirituality of water is not determined by its depth. It is spiritual as long as a dragon is inhabiting it. Although this poor abode is where I live, I feel proud of it as long as a virtuous gentleman is living there. Green moss creeps onto doorsteps. Grass colors reflect on a curtain. People who I talk to are intelligent and knowledgeable. Guests that visit me are not ignorant, mediocre people. I can play an austere guqin(a Chinese stringed instrument) and read a valuable Buddhist sutra. There is no noisy music disturbing peace and no official document bothering my mind and body. My place is like Zhuge’s (Liang Zhuge, 181-234) thatched house in Nanyang and Yang’s (Ziyun Yang, 53 B.C.-18 A.D.) Xuan pavilion in Western Shu. As once commented by Confucius, no house can be viewed as simple and crude if a virtuous person lives there.
釋文	山不在高，有仙則名。水不在深，有龍則靈。斯是陋室，惟吾德馨。苔痕上皆綠，草色入簾青。談笑有鴻儒，往來無白丁。可以調素琴，閱金經。無絲竹之亂耳，無案牘之勞形。南陽諸葛廬，西蜀子雲亭。孔子云：「何陋之有？」
