Yao Hua, known as Chongguang (courtesy name) and Mangfu (pseudonym), was born in Guiyang, China. Yao is versatile. His works include verse, poetry, ballad, inscription, calligraphy, phonological studies as well as landscape and flower paintings. Yao's most significant achievement of art is related to yingtuo. His work was highly praised by Moruo Guo (a pioneer Chinese historian and archaeologist) for its innovation. Yao was also known for his large collection of bronze inscription, clerical script, seal script, and paintings.
