Fully armed. Nearly every male Tibetan, boys as well as men, carries a gun. Long prongs are attached to the end of the Tibetan rifle by a swivel. When the rifle is fired from a seated or prone position, these prongs are swung down and used as a rest to steady the barrel. Ammunition is scarce and every shot must tell (p.10).
