Description	'Yabzamb-literally, 'the Father'. It is an appellation given only to the father of a living Buddha. …He had formally been monarch of the little kingdom of Litang, in eastern Tibet, an important post on the trade route from Lhasa to China by way of Szechwan and the Yangtzse River. When his youngest son, Jamv Japa, had been proclaimed the reincarnation of the previous Living Buddha of Lhabrang Gomba, he gave up his little kingdom entirely and went with his son to act as his regent in the temporal government of Lhabrang.'
