At Lhabrang Gomba, one of the largest lamaseries in Tibet, there is a huge chorten whose whole upper level is sheeted with gold. The unique feature about this chorten is its frieze of life-size nudes around the dome, the significance of which seems to have been lost in the haze of time. This chorten is several centuries old.
