'Three long, sonorous blasts herald the appearance of the orchestral procession at the doorway of the chanting hall. It is headed by two ancient twenty-foot brass trumpets, whose ends have to be supported on the shoulders of two neophytes. The dancers follow the orchestra and perform in the open courtyard.'
